Pay Your Fines Online April 16, 2008

Recently I noticed that the Ministry of Interior’s website was upgraded to allow payment of fines online. Previously one was just able to view any violations online, but the payment option was disabled. Now it seems they have finally integrated the whole payment workflow.

Process is relatively painless:

  1. Go to the website (moi.gov.kw). Try using Internet Explorer as it works best.
  2. The website opens in Arabic. There is a link to view the main website in English. The payment page defaults to English.  You can follow the link (it is the first link from the second menu item), or simply click on https://portal.acs.moi.gov.kw/wps/portal/violations
  3. Choose your violation type; either Traffic or Immigration and type in your Civil ID or other documentation.
  4. View your fines on the next screen.
  5. Select the ones you would like to pay. There is a 0.500 charge for using the service.
  6. You are taken to the standard KNET payment page; where you enter your card information.
  7. Once your payment process is completed; you are taken to the confirmation page.
  8. The print button on the page didn’t work for me.  I would highly recommend taking a printout of the page you see from Internet Explorer (CTRL+P is the shortcut).
  9. If you are without a printer, you can take a screenshot of Internet Explorer showing the confirmation numbers. This is highly recommended as you may face problems that your payment was not registered; always carry documentation. To take a screenshot:
Keep this image and the associated payment numbers for your records. Finally, one step closer towards avoiding the churn at the ministries.
