Thawte Is Ready for Mars April 23, 2008
Posted by Burhan in : Miscellaneous, Software , 1 comment so farThawte is a company that provides security and identity solutions (things like SSL certificates); and one of their products is a free email certificate; which allows you to sign and encrypt emails for added assurance.
Never satisfied with their Earthly customers, its apparent that Thawte is looking beyond the final frontier in attracting customers; and to verify their identities — notaries are also accepted from beyond this world.

Trip Along The Beach April 19, 2008
Posted by Burhan in : Kuwait , 2commentsIt was so lovely outside today — just the right amount of sun; and despite the dust, there were a lot of families enjoying the breeze out by Gulf Road. After my lunch at Applebee’s I decided to walk out a bit (since I pigged out on the dessert — damn you temptation!) and I snapped a few photos along the way.
By the way, Applebee’s has some excellent coffee — I was shocked at the quality and had to get a second helping.
It Had To Happen April 19, 2008
Posted by Burhan in : Funnies, Miscellaneous , add a commentST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A St. Petersburg rooster who used to herald the new day was silenced after a man allegedly fatally shot the bird.
Eric Nicastro, 33, took a BB gun and went after the young auburn cοck Saturday morning, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. He later upgraded to a handgun and chased the rooster into a neighbor’s yard.
After shots were fired, a neighbor said she heard Nicastro say: “I got him!”
Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Bordner said Nicastro then threw the rooster’s body into a creek.
Witnesses called authorities. Deputies who responded to the scene saw Nicastro toting a gun. He was cited for improper exhibition of a firearm and given a warning for trespassing. The state attorney’s office will decide whether to charge him.
It’s unclear who owned the rooster. A phone listing for Nicastro could not be located Sunday.
Never, underestimate the power of sleep deprivation.

Waterfield Wallet Arrives! April 15, 2008
Posted by Burhan in : Miscellaneous , add a commentFinally, after a bit of a struggle with Aramex Shop & Ship, my Waterfield wallet is here! Total Cost: $19 + $10 (US Priority Mail) + $9.60 Aramex Charge = $38.60 ~ 10 KWD.
Sure enough, true to their well deserved reputation, the workmanship is great, the leather feels top notch and the build quality is amazing; and I also received a hand written thank you note on my invoice; now when was the last time you got that kind of service when you shopped online?
I’ll soon be ordering my new laptop bag from them, seeing as how my current Kenneth Cole bag (which is about 8 years old) is starting to come apart at the seams (literally).
I highly recommend you check our their site sfbags.com which has excellent hand made laptop cases, sleeves and accessories for most of your Apple gadgets.
April - Jazz Appreciation Month April 13, 2008
Posted by Burhan in : Miscellaneous , 1 comment so farApril is Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) and I am a big fan of Jazz especially smooth jazz. Some of my favorite Jazz musicians include Wayman Tisdale, Boney James, Fourplay, Peter White, Spyro Gyra, George Benson, Lee Ritenour, Anita Baker — lets not forget the legends of more traditional Jazz Ella Fitzgerald (pictured in the poster above), Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington.
I urge you to explore this genre of music both for his rich history and amazing artistry that spans across geographic boundaries.
